New Face in the Los Angeles Hip Hop Game Iggy Azalea from Australia

I was searching for music the other day when I came up on this white chick originally from Australia... She was talking pretty g, flowing with gangsta attitude that reminded me of early 90s hip hop... Turns out she dropped out of high school, worked and saved money, and came to the states to pursue her rap career. She ended up here in LA trying to improve and work her magic. Now she is talking about Slauson where the crips are at, and praising 2Pac... Crazy Australian is doing her thang, gotta respect that. She just dropped her mixtape Ignorant Art on her website IGGY AZALEA where you can download it for free. Check it out, her videos are pretty out there too... Its only a matter of time before America develops a fixation for her like they did Brit, Lohan, Jessica Simpson... the only thing is Iggy Azalea would probably smash their faces in.... enjoy this track "Last Song" I like from Ignorant Art and her freestyling for YG.

Great New French House Music from Darius

I have always been a fan of great dance music since I was growing up in LA in the 90s and house music was all they played at parties. (Well besides Hip Hop, but it was pretty gangsta around this time). I came upon an Artist by the name of Darius who brings some fresh beats to the French House music game. I've always been a fan of French House music....Oh the Filters and funky disco, funk, fat bass lines. Just thought I would share the music of Darius with you all. Seems like he is not known to well, which is a real find for me and I love that always. But the music is dope plain and simple, I could care less if the music was played thru hundreds of channels or not... good music is good music and im just the middle man bringing you these beats so that you can add it to your musical library if you dig... Here are a few I found that im bumpin' as of late.... Enjoy

The Genius Of The Late J Dilla Find's A Way

So heres another example of the greatness of the great late Hip Hop producer J Dilla. He took a track from Japanese songwriter Towa Tei called Technova and made the classic Tribe Called Quest's Find A Way. Listen to Technova at the 2:30 mark to hear where J Dilla got the chill fill to Tribes Find A Way, and of course the hook is pretty much the same except he changed the Tribes version to sing the hook with reworked lyrics. The genius of J Dilla... Technova is not bad either from Towa Tei which also was part of Deee-Lite who made the one hit wonder Groove is in the Heart. Enjoy!!

Tarika Blue's - Dreamflower (Erykah Badu Sampled)

I found this track while doing some research on the late great Hip Hop producer J Dilla who helped Ms. Erykah Badu for her track "Didn't Cha Know" among so many others. J Dilla really knew how to find a great track and use the best of it to make a classic track.

This is the original Dreamflower by Tarika Blue, and its just as good if not better. A nice track to really just chill and groove too. Hope ya dig it like I do... Even tho it is an old song, if its new to you its a good find. As well is the Erykah Badu Track for you to hear them both... Enjoy

Pharrel Williams in the Short Film Ecology of Love

A friend of mine told me about this short film starring Pharrel Williams of the Neptunes production team. Its a cool little chance love meeting between him and a french girl. Im glad I came across it and now I share it here.

Florence + the Machine Live

Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine has got some great set of pipes on her. She has great range, emotion and soul on this great new track from her album Ceremonials. She has a great future ahead of her and it's always great to hear great musicianship in the music era of too polished studio bands. The Machine is Isabella "Machine" Summers who plays keys for her and helps write many of her songs. I admire both for their fresh take on music. Enjoy Florence + the Machine performing What the Water Gave Us on Later... Live with Jools Holland which is a great British show itself.

Daft Punks 1994 unreleased track to be on upcoming Soma Records 20 years album

Daft Punk who has in the past year become famous after their legendary Coachella Pyramid Visual concert in 2006 and their subsequent alive tour that followed, are now releasing a track that was recorded in 1994. The track is called Drive and will be found on the upcoming Soma 20 years triple album to commemorate 20 years together as a label. Daft Punk have garnered much attention since then having been sampled by everyone from Kanye West, Missy Elliot, and having been mentioned in LCD soundsystem's title and single Daft Punk are Playing at my house. As well they scored the soundtrack for Tron 2.0 and also made an appearance in the film. Daft Punk has its own limited addition of Coke bottles as well and have appeared in an Star Wars themed Adiddas commercial that aired during the World Cup that included David Beckham, Snoop Dogg, and Noel Gallagher to name a few. Congrats to the DJ duo here is the new track and a few videos of their work and admirers.

Dead Mau5 Remixes Covers Radiohead's Codex

Dead Mau5 has obviously been a fan of the new Radiohead Album King of Limbs as he has now remix the most somber and most popular track with the Radiohead fans CODEX. He completely covered the song rather than remixing, but it has all the elements of a Dead Mau5 track. No Thom Yorke vocals but sounds great... Enjoy

Heres the stream from the ever growing Soundcloud.com which is a great tool for all musicians and producers.

Foster the People's Rise

The song Pumped up Kicks by the band Foster the People has undoubtedly become the summer anthem of 2011. I realized this much more when both my mother and father asked me the name of the their song. Its weird when a song is so great that it crosses over in genre and surpasses age groups. Much respect to those that can write a great song such as Pumped Up Kicks... Its still funny that most people don't even understand the song is about shooting people... Oh well, good music is good music. Reminds me of how much everybody was into MGMT's Electric Feel when that hit the radio. Enjoy both of these hits...
